Rear End Colors

I am putting the rear end back together and I need some colors. What is the correct color for the axels? Natural Cast? What is the color of the outer bearing retainer that connects to the brake backing plate? (Black, I hope, since I already painted it). What is the correct finish of the bolts that connect the axel to the rear? Do they still sell them?

I am still looking for a 3.42 posi rear to put back in. I would like to buy a new ring and pinion gear setup. Any help? Where is a good place to get bearings, drums and a new rear end cover?

Sorry for all the questions, I haven't been able to get on the board for a week or so.

Len,did you get my pm before the board went down about the drums? As for the posi unit,get one from a GN,gears too.Any of the turbo boards should have something for sale. I`ve got less than $200 in my posi unit with 3:42 gears

There is a company in Johnstown Pa. that sell posi, gears and could possibly set up your housing. Their name is Wayne Jack Auto service 814-536-5225. I have bought several posi units for the 8.5" rear rebuilt around $225.
