O.K. Lets try this-- I have a '71 sky/GS back bumper complete with brackets, a good core, something hooked the bottom and gave it a small dent but its not rusty or anything.... has cracked taillight lenses--- My question is, would anyone be willing to trade me a '70 rear bumper for it??? I have 3 '70 cars, but only 2 '70 rear bumpers:puzzled: I like having a spare around, but I wish it was the right year...... Any '71 guys in the same boat??????

BTW mine does not have the bumper guard option....

Well....I can't really help you directly, but maybe we can get a 3 way swap going or something.....

Our Yellow 71 has a 72 back bumper on it. If you can find someone with a 70 back bumper that needs a 72...... I'll take your 71, you can have the 70, and I'll give the 3rd guy my 72.
    :Dou:

    It could happen! :gt:

So you've got a '70 core Matt... does it have any rust holes or other issues?? are the brackets included? how bout the lic. plate bracket? Any pics?

The bumper I'm offering is in need of a replate and some typical straightening. There are no holes or bends that have kinks. There are no brackets - the bumper is bare.

Mel's 71 "clone" has a 72 rear bumper on it. It looks fine (by my standards) on the car. I don't think there's any rust, and it only has one tiny "ding" just to the left of the driver's tail light. I never even noticed it until I looked more closely at the bumper last night after recieveing Dan's email. It's not a show bumper, but it's definately a great "driver" bumper.

I posted in this thread only because I thought it might make 3 people happy if we get a 3-way swap thang going on.
Although, I am happy with the 72 bumper even though it's not correct.

If we could swap for "little-to-no" cost, and make a few others happy, I would be more than willing to do it. But if it's going to cost me a rechrome and some tailights, I'd rather just stick with what we have and spend what little money I have elsewhere.

After an email from Dan, it sounds like his 71 bumper is in worse condition that the 72 we are currently using. I'd hate to take a step backwards if you know what I mean.
So for now it looks like I'm out of this one.
