Hey everyone. Getting some new rims for my '72 Lark. I've read here that clearances can be different from side to side.

What I'm looking for is the best way to measure to see how centered my axle may or may not be. What are the best points to measure from & to?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

Make some plumb bobs out of string and weights. Can make marks on the concrete or measure directly. But measure the wheel mounting face on the brake drum, the closest inside point (usually the frame just ahead of the rear axle but can be the inner wheelhouse), and the closest outside point, usually the qtr panel outer lip at the top. Measure to the shock mounting bolt if staying with a 15". If the tire diameter is crazy big, you will need to measure more.

    Same procedure for the front
