What is the proper procedure for re-installing the original pump, for the top, in a 1968 GS Convertible, after having it rebuilt? It came back bone dry. The top is in the up position, as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :3gears:

Just to get the air out of the lines and the fluid where it needs to be?

Put some rags on the floor under the pump to catch the hydro fluid overflow.

Pull the plastic plug out of the top of the pump.

Fill to the top with the hyro fluid with a small funnel (or I use a turkey baster.)

Start the engine and cycle the top up and down a couple of times.(leave the plug out)

When the fluid goes down, top it off and cycle it some more until it quts going down. (The excess will come out the inlet hole and run into the the rags)

The correct fluid needed by the system will be set by this process.

Put the plug and the seats back in.

    Send me 5 dollars.:dollar:
