Nice ride but his numbers are off a bit, there should be a one in front of that 2still a sweet looking car.
I just joined here, I hate to tell that guy but i have a'63 wildcat with a 425 all numbers match except mine is an automatic.thats one of the reasons I joined is to try and get some more info on mine.
I have owned 6 - 63 Wildcats 2 converts and none have had 425's all came with the 401 ( 445 ) the 425 was offered in 1964 for the first time But either way i love the car has the same color combo as one of my converts balck with red interior SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET Ken here is a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Wildcat
That guy needs to be B-slapped! 465 cubic inches huh? That's why I hate it when people put those rediculas signs out in front of their cars. You can say anything you want to..........no wonder people from the general spectator crowd walk up to us Nailhead guys and say "is that a 455"? :spank: ........they keep blowing down in the wind anyway ou: Gorgious 'cat though!
I know thats what I thought,But after runnin' the numbers its authentic my vin#6j1056958 the engine block is stamped with the vin and JW454 and JW is '63 425 under the valley pan I'm the third owner. the car has 77,897 actual mi's.
I have a 63 conv with a 425/465 all original except the exhaust and all numbers match. the motor is silver in color. I too looking for more info. Adam :beers2:
Hey adam, I guess we both need to be b-slapped,huh? Just because people never had one, they don't exist.
Hey adam, My engine code is JW454,if I you could tell me how to get the pics out of my e-mail I would post them.Or I can e-mail them to you to post. Of course my car is in the middle of tear down for rebuild, but I have the pics of all numbers and tags.
Just because you haven't seen or owned one doesn't mean it dosesn't exist.I've fooled with old cars my whole life, that doesn't mean I know every make and model ever made.Get your facts straight before you imply that some one is a liar. Dusty
The Wilkopedia entry is not terrible, but not entirely accurate. Pete Phillips has a 63 Wildcat 425 4-speed convertible, also a ##s matching engine...very few out there! It is Ultra cool that we have you 63 guys with them here on the board!
That's not the first time I've heard he had a con'vt. I have also heard he has a t/d,h/t parts car. I would really like to talk to him.If anybody knows him relay the message for me please. Thanks for the welcome, hopefully I can be of assistance in the future. Dusty
I see those a lot here in Michigan (I have seen 4 in the last year.) I posted some pictures of that car a few years ago and he had the same sign posted, this was at the Frankenmuth show. Last month I raced against one that would qualify as a rat rod it was so rusted out but it ran low 15's. There is a 4 speed convertible in the Flint Buick club that I see at many local shows.
