That's optinal rally clock. All '70 GSX's came with it. It also showed up on other Skylark's from time to time.

All '70 X's came with the 24 hour clock. As far as I know, when you got a GS or Skylark with the guages, and you ordered a clock, all you got was the regular one. However, I've also seen at least 2 Skylark 4-doors with guages and the 24 hour clock. What I don't know is whether or not it was an option. The Wholesale Order forms I have don't show it, but never say never. I don't know about the '71's and '72's. Sombody else will have to chime in here..........

I think its going to be one of those things that no one will ever be able to know for totally sure... i did search threads for rally clock and there are more combinations of ways you could end up with a rally clock :Dou: thanks wally

The option is shown on the wholesale order form as Option U9.
Description:Instrument Gauges and Rallye Clock, UPC code WB7.

I'm pretty sure it could be ordered on any car from base 4dr to GS.

    Interested in a swap?

I've got what should be a working in dash tach (worked when I parked the car a few years back) and since I bought a repo hood tach I'd be interested in making an exchange. Interested?

I assume it is an original equipment. It was in the car when I bought it 10 years ago. I don't know if anybody was making repo indash tachs back then. The guy I bought the car from had had it for 3 years and had brought it to MN from AZ. As for testing it, the motor is out of the car right now and I'm not sure I want to pull it out to test it. I'll have to see how difficult that would be.

I can answer that. They did make repo's 10yrs ago. Pretty sure Postons was a vendor for them.

I have one in my car now that was purchased in the early 90's. The transfer is starting to peel a little on it.

Basically the repos use a decal on the face, the originals used painted letters.
Look closely and you should be able to tell.

I had a 71 GS 455 (sold now) that came with the gauges and 24 hour clock. It was on the buildsheet...seems the cloks were more popular than the tach, oddly enough, if you look at the option breakdowns.
