Raising front end 1" over stock height

I have gone through 3 sets of front springs to try and raise the height about 1" over stock to no avail. I was considering using 1" top disc spacers but I am concerned I may not be able to get them in (on top of spring) and that my front shocks will end up being over extended. Has anyone ever used the top disc spacers with success or are my concerns valid.

Just keep in mind that a 1” spacer would likely give you 1.5 or even 2” of lift as the geometry of the control arm works out. A 1/2 spacer may be what you need.

For installation remove the spring completely add the spacer and re install it shouldn’t be an issue just use a good spring compressor and be safe!

To test the shock for topping out Jack up the car and measure how much extension your shock goes up before the wheel leaves the ground. Jack from the Center of the frame under the engine so it lifts up level. You do want to keep negative suspension travel and not have it riding topped out however I would be willing to bet that you would have a large amount of negative suspension travel as is.

    Thanks Sean.

We could not get enough room with the car jacked up and the spring compressor at max to get the spring out and install the spacer. Just too much tension on the spring with dropping the control arm! Ended up just swapping out the KYB shocks (leaking again) with Bilsteins. Much better ride and handling!!

Did you try removing the lower control arm bolts to the frame?

If you put a 1/2 spacer in the lower control arm spring pocket, it is nearly undetectable and will give you the 1" lift you want.
