Frank, they can be snarley. Try some light oil or a bit of white grease. I just went through this and found while pushing down hard and slightly turning at the same time worked for me.

You mean those pyramid shaped bumpers with the long rectangular slot you have to fit it into?

    BwaaHaHaHa!!!!!:bla:

Yes there is a trick. The light oil on the rubber booby is part of the solution.:Smarty:
The rocking side to side while pressing is part of the solution.:Smarty:
HEAT is NOT part of the solution.:af:

You may have to send me :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: for this one Frank.

The cone shaped bumper should have a threaded rod that screws into the frame. Did you chase the threads on the frame after you painted? Should go right in.

That's my quote from the other thread. This does happen when you are trying to do a project like this in restricting conditions.
At this point in the resto it is easy to confuse parts or not be able to locate them at all even though you know you have them. Don't sweat it. It'll just make you crazier.:ball:
The first few cars I restored were a collection of monumental mistakes.
Every single part was labeled and stored in organizing bins like you should but I was too generic with the labeling. "Chassis hardware" is one that comes to mind. Think about it. You just finished that stage. It was confusing to say the least.
This is when the assembly manual becomes the bible. Even though it does not show every single part, nut, or clip, it becomes the most important tool.

Keep at it, take some breaks every so often, and it will be back together before you realize.

Wait 'till you see how many extra pieces you will end up with!

Wait till you spend 30 minutes walking around the shop looking for a certain tool or part and then realize you had it in your hand the whole time . Hate to admit how many times I have done that . Yeh a bit of a dumb a_ _
