I have a 67 special 300ci which I was planning a 455 for. But with the cost of that project I figured I would hold ff for now and just d some things to soup up the 300 for now. I am planning a 4bbl intake from a 65 dual exhausts, upgrade the cam and a tranny swap. My questions: 1. I found a th400 rebuilt for $150. What people recommends this or a different trans. The guy who I found this from apparently has a ton rebuilt trans for sale including some 700's. (If you in IL let me know and I can give you this guys info) I am thinking of a 400 so it can withstand the 455 when I put it in later. 2. For street use to get me by for a few years, what combo of cam and rear gears would people recommend. 3. What kind of HP gain can I expect from these mods? is over 300 reasonable? 350hp?
