I posted this question in "chassis", but meant to post it here. I found a quarter for my 67 GS, but it is from a post car, and mine isn't a post. I need everything from the jamb to the back of the wheel well replaced. Can I use that panel? I don't know if they're different or not. Thanks, Michael
Thanks for the info, I found another quarter from a coupe. I thought my body man was further along with my car than he is. He didn't want to use my old quarter because the previous body shop had brazed a patch in and my body man said the brass would always show through because of different expansion rates. I was glad the rest of the car was rust free after stripping (I thought it was, but you never know) Here's a shot of the quarter in question;
The bondo is 3/4" thick in some areas! I'm suprised a chunk of it hasn't ever fallen off! Anyway here's the other side;
Love that stance! OOhh, I cant wait till mine is done, the 455 and 200r4 is done and ready to go in. A little to late for summer cruising, but they'll be some warm days way down here in Alabama for quite a while (hopefully no more of this hurricane business)!
Dave, Great to see you have her restored, I saw your GS at the Goodguy's show, but did not see you. For those who don't know Dave, his GS is a local legend arround Waukesha/Milwaukee. :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
mike, where are you located. ive been trying to find 67 quarters for a few years and have had no luck.
Joe, I'm in Birmingham. Sorry for the delay, my computer was overrun with the ^#&*!@ spyware and I had to give it an adjustment (nearly with a hammer). I searched the net quite a bit and called MANY junk yards. I hope the one that is finally on the way doesn't have any suprises. The guy said he was sending inner and outer panels with about a foot of trunk, jamb to extention for 450.00. later, Michael
