The family was out for a cruise to the ice cream parlor last night, my wife daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Jake. Enjoyed some fine ice cream at Uncle Ray's in Fenton and headed home. I am letting Jake drive. He has a 2002 Z28 6-speed. Nice car, runs low mid 13's at 109. Great son-in-law and a good driver. We are on the way home and catch a light as yellow WS6 Firebird pulls up next to us. Passenger has the hat on backwords, giving Jake a signal that he wants to go. Jake is cool, not his car and he knows the X has destroyed a lot of LS1's. Driver of the Bird shouts over you gonna go? Jake, "naw you cant' take this it beats my Z28 all the time." Bird driver, " I got a supercharger bitch, whip your.." Rebecca is setting next to me in the back seat says " screw this Jake, whip his ass." Light turns right then and Jake nails the X, no preload on the tranny, no manual shift down to first, nothing just nails it in drive from 800 rpm. Bird dissappears in the rear buy at least 3 lengths. Tranny does a shift to second at 5000 (motor likes to go to 6000) and Jake lets it off being a sensible driver and we are not out in the country with no traffic. Bird does a ricer fly by then turns into the 1st subdivision in front of us. Guy has no idea how easy Jake was running the car. Sure is fun to destroy morons.
