After the successfuol detox will come the recovery process that this person has never been successful at and it is because Satan has a grip and this individual needs salvation. Please pray for that salvation. Encouragement can be sent here and I will forward it to the individual. God Bless and I pray a prayer of thanks for a site with a forum of this type for giving thanks & praise to God.

THX, takes a true man to admit that sometimes even though it is the first step. Perhaps if he makes it through you could do some long distance fellowship with this person?

Overcoming objectives in life is what makes a person successful. I hope your friend is able to achieve a greater sense of life when he succeeds in his, or her ventures.

My thoughts and prayers are with this person. I have been there, and like Jamie says it is way worth the temp. hardships of quitting.

I hope he's successful. My brother was only 45 when he finally lost the battle. In and out of detox, he knew he had a problem, but just couldn't get a handle on it. Hopefully your friend see's the potential trouble down the road and realizes what the right course of action is.

Just think about the things you like most in life and do them. The booze just adds nothing.

Prayers said for your friend. Also wanted to mention that many Christian churches have addiction recovery programs that are 100% Biblically based. My church has this through Reformers Unanimous which is a National movement. God is in the life changing business! God Bless as he continues in these trials.

I brought this friend back home last week. He still needs prayer. Yes, Satan is a liar from the beginning and like alcohol, one of his tools, he is cunning, baffling and powerful. If we resist him he will flee. Often we try to go toe to toe with him and we are no to do that.
The world system is Satan's. Even this hobby can become an idol as I have experienced that and learned that it is just a car and be willing to give it up should my Lord ask. Nothing can come between God and my relationship with Him. Thanks all, Mark

I have a friend fighting this too. Amazing what can control our lives. Your right....anything can become our idol....our god. I pray that your friend wins his battle.

Thanks, some seem to need the Lord to get this terrible affliction off their backs and he is one who will not do it himself, nor with the AA program, which is God given, but I believe he needs direct intervention from God though he needs to make his house acceptable for the Lord to make his abode in. Total surrender, as I need total surrender, to ezperience the promises of God. I also was an alcoholic but have experienced 20 years sober but a back in jury has kept me way too dependent on pain medications though through surrnder and allowing my church to control my medication I have gotten to where I no longer run out early. Thank God for that.

That's a tough one. My thoughts and prayers are with him. I have had a few close friends loose that battle, it's a terrible thing to watch. I hope your friend wins his battle...having someone as caring as you helping him may make all the difference in the world!
