Power Steering Pump Bracket Compatibility

    Are 455 power steering pump brackets interchangable for the various years? Example: 76 bracket on a 70 motor?

    yes, they will all interchange on the engine but the location of the pump can differ. For example the 67-69 large cars hang the pump low on the engine. The GS had a bracket set all its own that put the pump roughly right in front of the head. The 70 Big car had an aluminum and metal bracket that put the pump roughly between the GS pump location and the 67-69 large car location. The 71-up was maybe a little higher than the 70 bracket , and also had a place for the smog pump to go.

    Thanks for the reply. Do these brackets have a part # on them? If so, where could I find out the #'s for different years or GS's.
