That a beauty! I'm torn on the bumper guards & body side molding on my '71 as it did come w/them orig. & so have been collecting pics of '71s w/ & w/o but the more I see w/ the more I lean towards installing them.
@Dano: I like the looks of the front and rear bumper guards with additional peak mouldings and extra trim mouldings on the trunk lid and extension housings. The appearance package adds a little more class to the body styling. However add the GSX ornamentation stripe package and all those extras would have to be deleted to look right. Nando.
Mine '71 is a convertible so no upper peak but my '70 has it & unlike my younger days I've come to like it. Somewhat unusual to see it on a non-vinyl top car but I like it on them too. Hadn't thought about adding the trunk molding to my '71. Hmmm... The lady that special ordered my '71 ordered the f&r bumper guards, door edge guards, & body side mouldings - Basically everything to protect the car. Plus a bunch of other nice options.
@70GREENROCKETS other green '70 Stage 1 from MCACN '21 (posted w/permission/by request). Sherwood Green w/green vinyl top (same combo as mine exc. mine has white interior). IIRC, Gregg's has a green interior.
It really was a neat car. Very low option (orig. manual steering, brakes, etc.) but had the optional green seat belts. Also very quick! I never had a Sloan on it but I'd owned it since '85 when I was 18 & unfortunately sold it under duress about 15 years ago. Last I knew it was in Germany & had been converted to a 455 w/PS & PDB.
We need @priariecanary to post! I have pics if Stacy's car from MCACN '23 but would rather he post them! I will post the late @ctauto (Frank's RIP my friend) super rare (one of 15) & very low option (G60-15, AM radio, gauges/tach was all) '72 Stage 1 4-sp convertible from MCACN '22. Great backstory on the car: Local business owner told his young son to go order him a car. IIRC it was between this & a GTO & the Buick dealer gave him a better deal. Frank had known of the car for a long time and wound up w/it & did the subsequent resto.
In 1971 was it still called Seamist Green? I recall there was Willow Mist and Lime mist in '71. Love the pics.
