My brother in law has a perfect top from his 442, was on the car for a few years. Will this work on the Buick or are they different?

But probably not worth the hassle of taking off and reinstalling;(don't think a top shop would do that) Lots of little staple holes give plenty of opportunity to tear or leak.

Thanks, Mike - is it tough to remove the complete unit?

Nope, it might need some re stretching. All cars are a little different but it should bolt in and work.

It's getting a black Robbins stayfast top. It's a really neat car - has Corvette brakes, lots of suspension upgrades and wild drive train built by Mondello.
