    70-72 rocker molding limited run....

    There was a guy from Year One posted to the Buick performance list today aksing if we were interested in having some rocker moldings made. I imagine they would be the same ones they used to sell, I heard they were decent quality....

    So perhaps we should let him know what we think....

    Yeah I know their shipping practises aren't great, but maybe we could do somehting about that too....or perhaps a gorup purchase???

    Anyway, here is a copy of the e-mail, he wanted us to e-mail him, so I posted it here to get the info out. Hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here...

    gotbuick What, me worry?

    You would think that Year One would keep track of all the people that have called in for these. :Dou:

    Just ordered some tonight. There supposed to be a limited run, with delivery in early summer. They also applied my 10% diccount towards them. Anyway I don't understand what you mean when you talk about there "shipping practices", I've ordered a LOT of stuff from them over the years and never had a bit of trouble. Ordered a 70GS grille from them about ten years ago, and it arrived perfect and still looks like new! I also talked to them about getting some new grilles made, he said he would leave Mike a message about it. Keep hopin!

    Well Jeff, I hope they are good, I just ordered mine tonight!!!!

    the shipping: Seems they always pick the most expensive way!!LOL thats ok though, the packaging has always been first rate. These rockers were really bad for shipping (expected)due to the odd size and the fact that I'm in Canada. YO has a flat rate shiping charge for some areas, doesn't seem to matter what size or wieght it is. those are the complaints I've heard...

    159.00 for one set plus 51.00shipping =210.00US x 1.65 exchange=$346.50 and thats not including the duty, brokerage, etc I will have to pay. yeah, old cars are cheap...and the guys in US doing the same job as me make more!!!! :-(

    Hope they are nice pieces!!!!

    I called Year One yesterday (3/5/2002)and was told the moldings had been disco'd--though I had not learned about this group or thread at the time(directed here form buick performance at yahoo groups). Any one I particualr at Year One I should ask for the next time I call?

    I would send Mike T an e-mail (address in original message) and tell him about it. Replies to e-mails very quick, I found.

    When I called Year One I told the parts guy it was a limited run and he seemed to know exactly what I was talking about.

    let us know
