I moved the source of vacuum for my re-curved distributor from manifold vac to ported on the carb. I must say I like the response, but it pings slightly now when I nail it. What should I be expecting and should I advance my timing a bit? Cheers, Mike
Manifold vacuum responds a bit quicker to throttle opening than ported vacuum. That might be why it pings as the vacuum advance doesn't go away as quickly when it is attached to ported vacuum. Advance the timing? Why would you do that if it is pinging?
