Porsche Boxter beat on it's own turf... (and a VW golf GTI) So I forgot my creditcards in my work-pants at work, and had to go and fetch them in a hurry.. On my way home on the danish 'Autobahn' (at 8 in the evening and almost no traffic whatsoever) I was doing maybe 75 mph, and a porsche boxer was racing with a VW Golf GTI.. -I was driving in the middle of the lanes (3 lanes) and they both passed me -one on each side... -Hmmm... Okay I thought.. -I mashed the pedal to the floor, and shifted into 2nd. -And this is funny.. -I caught them at around 90 or 95 mph, (in between them) -and then shifted into 3rd. -The Old heap of Detroit-steel jerked a bit as the torque pulled hard around 4000 (in 3rd.) -And showed those two German piles of "#!! what raw power can make a car do.. (well the porshe WAS actually quite nice) Obviously the porsche tried to keep up, but I think he lost his 'fast and furious'-guts pretty quick, as I ran the old Buick up to 'round 5500 rpm (about 130 mph), with 500-700 rpm's left to spare.. (355 cui. 3.42 rear, w. roller284/292 .518/.534 lift, headers 3 inch x-over exaust into 'purple hornies', new heads,-big valves th350..) -it's quite a 'racy' sound.. Man that was a rush.. - When I had to turn off the 'autobahn' and cruised around 60 mph some minutes later, -the VW golf drove up to my left, and 3 guys were sitting there, grinning and givings the thumps up... :TU: The guys loved that yuppie was beat, as he showed off for them.. Porsche Boxter beat at it's own turf... (read; - the autobahn) I think a Boxter actually can run 150-160 mph.. -compared to my old heap, that 'only' runs around 145.. -BUT w. NO overdrive... I think I love my Buick.. p _Glad I didn't get a speed ticket, though...

sorry.. it is a chev... I granaded the original 350 some years ago.. A freind gave me a free 350 block and there you go... ANY us car engines and whatever is QUITE expensive here in Denmark (scandinavia) -and the chevy parts is alot more inexpensive than the buick parts.. Anyway, I built this engine FOR my BUICK and it's all GM I can't aford to be too picky w. not too much money to spend.. -I'm sorrrrry.. Still a nice kill huh?
