Alright guys, I have been contemplating sticking in a manual transmission into the 69 Skylark.

I found this kit online, do you guys think it will work with the 69 Skylark?

And does yearone provide a Z-Bar for buicks?

Which Transmission will be great for a rebuilt 350, nothing too fancy, just want to bang gears instead.

Any other items I'm missing that will just make it easier?

Whats the easiest way to convert for a bang for the buck? Just a college student, I understand that spending more $ on a better setup will be best but I am trying to see what would work fine

Here is a picture of the Skylark with the Dog Dishes, now how bad ass would it be with a 4 speed?!!!!!

Looks like the majority of the items your going to need for this swap. Since your going SBB, the Z-bar should work. I crossrefferenced the GM parts book when I did this swap and found the same part number for the z-bar, clutch rod and several small parts.

You are still going to need a bellhousing, flywheel, clutch & trans.

Check on the GTO site for the bell, more 4 speed Goats than GS or 442. I got mine for cheap at the swap meet from a Pontiac guy.

Also, '73 Jeep CJ's had manual trans 350 Buicks in them. You might get lucky and find one on the Jeep board. Otherwise, just call T/A Performance. This will save you lots of headaches.

RAM makes a good HD replacement 10.4 inch clutch set. usually can find it for around $160 or so.

Good luck & keep us posted.

    Jim
