I am constantly looking to improve the plated finishes I put on carburetors. I have been getting a lot of requests for "whatever is closest to OEM".

So what do you all think?

Which is closest to the (1974 and prior) Quadrajet OEM finish?

note the poll is for the 4M quadrajet (1974 and prior). I believe the E4M quadrajet like you show (and the 75+ M4M Quadrajet) had a different finish, more translucent greenish, or it could be aged zinc finish turns a little green as it fades.

hehheh Teflon maybe. like the green accellerator pump levers etc j/k

but seriously, the good thing about the chromated finish is that you can hit it with Carb cleaner spray and it wont melt off.:TU:

I agree on it n needing more of a greenish tint for the body I voted Yellow since the green tint was not a choice. Sending a PM

You know where I stand on this one....

I love the gold and yellow steel (Goldfinger!), but the yellow and yellow steel seems to be more correct. More green and flatter would be even better.

Meanwhile, here's a shot of the gold/gold 7041304 you did on my 65 Gran Sport - fired it up for the first time yesterday, ran beautiful right out of the box, so to speak. At least one car will be ready for May 2nd.....

WOW the engine looks Great Rhett!

I the yellow will dull and lighten with age, possibly get the green tinge to it (in like 20 years)....I think thats the zinc.

AND I am surprised....the votes are somewhat evenly spread right now...I had thought one or the other would run away with it.

    VOTE people VOTE :)

I like the bronze, I think it'll look better on a red engine than the others.
