Plastic liners behind seat and panels?

I have a problem with my convertible top well liner billowing up and blocking the rear window when the top is up and the window is down. I have already tried sealing the seams in the trunk as per George's trunk restoration article on his website and it did help some. I am thinking that the next logical step is to try and block off the air flow inside the cabin that gets under the back seat and causes the well liner to billow up. I can get some nice 6 mil. thick opaque plastic at the big box store. Should I fit some plastic behind my seat and side panels to block the air flow? What kind of adhesive is recommended? The old stuff seemed to be a sticky reusable kind of caulk.

    That was rope caulk.

What is the well material? Should be a vinyl material.
