Wally, very nice............ One thing I noticed is the fuel line clamp at the main line where it attaches to the gas tank. It should be yellow(early 70 may have been black). They are slightly smaller than the green. This is the only place on the main fuel line where the smaller clamps were used. They must have wanted a tighter fit at the tank for safety. Check the assembly manual. You will see it is a different part# than the greens on the rest of the line.

Looking great and I can only imagine the time and effort that went into it thus far. Well done.

Wally . Looks Great . Thanks for sharing the pictures . I am working on a similar setup . One quick question . What is the color or finish on the front drum backing plates ?

    Thanks Pat

    Hey Pat-
I did mine with a tin plating kit from Eastwood, turned out great. Although I "think" it should be natural. The tin keeps it from rusting and looks totally natural.

    PS. Looks very nice Wally!

Wally. not 100% sure on the change. I guess it will not matter as it canot be seen. But for safety reasons I would change it as they are a bit tighter.

Disc backing plates were galvanized . Can 't get parts re galvanized so clear zinc or E Nickle would work although not exactly correct. All drum backing plates I've seen were just painted black .

I thought they were like a silver ,zinc plating , so black is correct for a drum brake car ? thanks wally

I checked my 22k mile ( Fremont) survivor car & they are black . I stripped another drum set and did not appear to be galvanized .
I prefer the look of the plating you did however .
Ps what color will the car body be ?
