Had great weather for it and the bugs were biting real nice First up is one I haven't seen in a yard before. This one still had seats and console.
I know the 280Z doesn't fit but I was smitten by these cars as a young boy 'cause my cousins' boyfriend had one then. Thought they were cool :bglasses:
This is another yard that has some great stuff in it but he won't allow anyone in 'cause he's afraid somebody will get hurt and sue him. It looks like he is getting ready to crush out :ball:. Here's a Camaro sitting on top of other stuff.
Datsun Z cars are very cool pre 1977! My father and I built one in the 80's.......... had an original Chebby 302 DZ motor, turbo 350, ford 9''/ 4 link I would take it out to gratiot...."Detroit" it would beat anything on the street at that time! My cousin owns that car today still. We still have one DZ motor in crate, to this day! makes me want to find a 69 camaro! Wife laughs.........I love my GS, but i also will never part with my 70 440 'cuda or my all original numbers matching 71' RT 440 Challenger 4 spd car. 1970 GSX is next purchase............ :TU:
Have cut up a few '67 GrandPrixs over the years. They're ugly but make good partscars if fairly complete. Lon, Did you ck the GP for "670" heads??? I'd be interested in f/s tilt out of it, if it had one. :3gears: Roger
The only way there would be 670 heads was if I counted all the gnats . Engine was long gone, although, I didn't look in the trunk. Steering column was still there but can't tell much more than that.
there is a yard in marengo ohio that has been closed for years .i know theres a 71 cutlass with immaculate white bench interior in there, but the dobermans dont like hamburger found a 68 SS in the sticks with full interior with factory tach, asked about the car and a 69 cutlass there, came back 2 days later and all the cars i asked about were gone..
Andy: I had a similar thing happen in a yard near here. Found a pretty nice black 70 W30 buried way deep in a ghetto junkyard, mostly complete minus engine, trans, and hood. Popped the trunk and there was a brand new set of wheel opening moldings in the wrappers. We stripped off the paper, sloshed them around in a mud puddle (the type unique to junkyards with oil, etc) and bought them for a buck apiece. Took them home, cleaned off the crud we put on them and put them on my 71 442 conv that night. Inquired about buying the whole car and the guy told me to come back the next day when the owner was there. Car disappeared overnight. Bummer.
update on closed yard Stopped by today after unearthing the GTX and got the old guy to let me and a friend in :beer I bought what's left of a '70 Duster - it has an 8-3/4 rear :TU:.
Dave, Wanna see buried way deep in the jungle? Here's where my Belvedere and so-called "GTX" came out of.
