Ok, couldn't help but put this here.
Isn't this the same wet/vac pump we have been using to upgrade our Buick race motors for the stock junk???? If so someone need to take this off his hands for this price. I already bought one and for the "new" price so I don't need another one. I'm pretty sure it has the right pressure section and vacuum section for what is recommended for the 455. :TU:

This is a Peterson wet-vac pump, brand new in box. $425. I already have one but paid a good bit more for it.....

Rick are you still on Here. That is a Good Deal on the Peterson they are like $800-$900 for a Two stage not Big on the Vaccum Pump i have some friend's that have them on SmallBlock's have not seen over 10 inch's. I went with Single Stage and the Moroso Vaccum pump 4 vane 22641. I do not think you get the full use out of a Vaccum Pump in less you go to MM rings like 43 rings

This pump will pull more then 10inhg we have had 14+.In a wet sump application you do not need more than 12inhg if you run more than that you'll have more oil pressure problems. The oil pump actually fights with the vacuum pump and causes cavitation. In a drysump app. you can go more because the oil pump is drawing oil from a source that is not under vacuum. For what guys are trying to do here this pump is just fine.

With mine I'm pulling about 4 inches at around idle and between 10-11 inches at 7,000 rpm through the traps. Oil pressure? Geez it's a Buick racer's wet dream! I love my oil/vac pump well worth the price for a ton of insurance on the life and performance of the junk design racing engines we run.

I heard that around 11 inches is about max otherwise you risk sucking out too much oil from the engine. Bruno DiPaola hurt their engine using a vac pump that was pulling beyond 15 inches and at idle alone it was at 10! Starved the engine of oil and hurt a few bearings.

Only other precaution is I re-check the fittings after 2 or 3 runs, some have loosen a bit from vibration...not a good thing to happen.

I guess the bottom line is,I got screwed.I pm'd the ford dork and told him that if he pm'd Jeff and told him that he made a mistake because he had already sold it to a fellow buick guy he would most likely understand but it looks like the add has been removed :Do No: and he won't return my pm's. :af: thats what I hate about the internet people don't seem to give a rats ass who they screw.I came so close to losing my money also,I was trying to paypal him but didn't know what to do with they e-mail address he gave me. Jeff whats your take on this  Chris

    Chris,
I don't know what to think? All I know is, I saw this thread immediatly signed on the Mustang board and bought the pump. Next thing I saw your post saying you had bought it. The only thing I can come up with is, I must have commited first for him to sell it to me. I don't have the pump yet, maybe I am going for a ride? I don't want any hard feeling, I saw it and bought it, did I do something wrong here? Will someone tell me if I did. :Do No:

    Not a big deal

Jeff, immediatly :Do No: I saw the post when it had 0 views and it had just been posted.I wasted no time signing up to the mustang web site,I pm'd and e-mailed him saying I would take it. Lets see,I saw it first,I pm'd him first,I was told first that it was mine. Are deal was made hours before you phoned him.If you commited first then how do you explain the pm's between me and ford guy where he tells me where to send the $$$$$$:Do No: You didn't by chance offer him more money then the asking price did you,I'm not saying you did but there has to be some reason why he screwed me.....Chris

    Chris,
From what I can see, your PM was hours after mine. Looks like you came in, in the middle of my transaction with him. He did not say there was anyone else wanting the pump. I saw it, I bought, its done. I paid what he was asking for the pump. If you feel I screwed you, there is nothing I can do about it. I was pretty happy I was able to buy this for a great price, "Thanks Rick" but your sure taking all the joy from it away. I guess I would be pretty upset also, but sometimes thats the way things go. I am done here. I wish you the best of luck in the future, I hope there aren't any hard feeling.

    Wet/Vac Oil Pump

    Hey guys
I hope you work out the issues of the pump purchase, it was a good price. That should be the same pump that I sell in my oil system. (with a few exceptions.) I just priced a system out for another customer and found out that Peterson really raised thier prices! The list for that pump is near a grand!
I do sell individual components from my oil system, so if you need a CNC billet pump mount, billet oil pickup, custom mandrel drive, HTD belts/pulleys, etc. please call me. I also can help with diagrams, etc. Thanks,

    Pm

My early pm's and e-mails I couldn't post because of my lack of computer skills I was lucky to post what I did.Jeff its very clear in the pm's I did post that he did sell it to me but you seem to be avoiding that observation for some reason, you make it sound like I made those pm's up :Do No: Talk about taking the joy away, there was a point I was real happy also and my joy was taken away. There is a reason the guy changed his mine I was hoping you might have some answers.I wasn't expecting you to mail me the pump when you got it but I did think you might look at the facts and say hey man the guy screwed you sorry to see that happen. The only reason I've kept repling to you about this is because you keep walking around the fact that he did sell this to me, as you said in a earlier post, something is fishy. Why the seller changed his mind I'll never know,my problem has been with him from the start, you just weren't saying the right things to make me feel warm and fuzzy about your part in this  Maybe I'll see you at one of the Nats and will be able to have a beer and check out your install :moonu:  Chris

    Chris,
I didn't know anything about anything! All I did was buy the pump from the guy. I didn't offer him more money, I just asked him if he still had it, he said yes and I said I will take it, thats it. I wasn't playing any games, I even said thank you to Rick for posting it, a few times. I don't know what else happened? But Beer is good ,I have a few with ya, even a few more! :TU:
