Anybody ever see pearl white spray paint for the interior for faded spots in 1971 Buicks, and were can I find some spray that matches.
It’s a two step application. I’ll be happy to send you the products you need if you will send me a PM.
I just bought a 1971 skylark custom I have been bugging this old man for 26 years and finally said yes to buy it, it has 12,000 original miles its very nice its bittersweet with pearl white interior and a whitw vinyl top from sitting in the garage for alot of years the window on the garage the sun shined thru and faded the back of the bucket seats alittle so I want it to look perfect, thats it runs like atop and has alot of options Thanks Dan.
SEM dye products. I have used it and works great. Changed sandalwood coloured door panels, etc. to black.
photos in about a week its still in his garage we have to go for title he is 87 and can't move very good I told him no rush .
Also, it sounded like you were thinking of "spotting in" the vinyl? That probably isn't a good idea unless you are a magician. You will want to clean prep and spray the whole seat.
My 71 SS 454 was that color, it is called burnt orange metallic (Chevelle) (Bittersweet mist) in the chevy color just in case you need a touch-up bottle?
Here is what I used on my 71 Stage 1 armrest bases, windlace, and seat parts. It matched the Legendary Pearl white interior perfectly. Spray the SEM Super White #15103 paint on as the base coat, and then top with the Ames M28 Pearl. Make sure you use light coats with the pearl, and check with your interior after each coat dries. It doesn’t take much for it to start looking too yellow/gold and then you will be sorry. Make sure you clean/dry everything you dye very well. SEM sells a pumice soap and and an aerosol spray adhesion promoter if you want to really make sure it’s clean and prepped. Here are pics of what I used.
And whatever you do, PLEASE use a VERY mild cleaner first. I made the mistake of using Totally Awesome several years ago on my ORIGINAL interior, and it dissolved the threads on the seams. Had to buy all new seat and door panels from Legendary. The seats and doors look great, but it was an expense that was NOT needed. Just because of wanting a very clean interior...
