my passenger side door does not have a mirror, is it easy or even possible to install one. is it basically drilling some holes and mounting the mirror?

They are easy to install. Drill some holes mount the bracket and mount the mirror to the bracket...The hard part is finding an original passenger side mirror. Aftermarket ones are easy to get.

    Yes,

But make sure you have the info to measure where to drill the holes, nothing so frustrating as looking at your car and noticeing every time that the mirror is not in the spot you wanted it.........

In a 1971 Fisher body manual you'll find the exact location for the mirror, or ask the nice people at V8Buick.com with a 1971 Skylark, to measure the mirror location for you. :TU:

Or you could just put it in the same location as the driver's side mirror...

Since both sides should be "mirror" images (pun intended), take measurements of your driver's side mirror's location and use those numbers on the passenger side.
