That is our buddy from MD. Jeff is one crazy guy and funny as hell. The last time I saw that car it was quite dirty looks like he washed it Ha Ha Ha!
Yeah they were way off in their times. I was there and they didn't pick my JAGUICK. When I said it ran 9.70s with a Buick motor the guy making the selections scratched his head and said why a Buick motor. I said "why not?" and he walked away. Good they picked Jeff though.....I'm sure he was a better salesman. :beer
Nice, I think I'm gonna call our tv stations here to make a show like that!!! Nice car and very nice run!!!!
I am so glad they had a Buick on there that could go fast ! Last time I saw a Buick on that show it was a GSX and it was slooooooooooowwwww all show and no go ! I was really disappointed.
I really hate it when I see that. Go to the Musclecar Nats see a GSX and a Hemi Cuda both running high 14s..... When I was younger that really didn't impress me. Then I saw a car called "Thumper" if I recall right. I think it was a Stage 2 car and he knew how to drive and the car was cool looking to me. That car turned me into the Buick guy I am to this day.:3gears:
Thanks,I raced Ol' Thumper many years in the 80's till 91 when a accident while towing destroyed her.I still have the iron stage2's,and have been running Great Scat since then.Still wish I still had her and contemplated recreating her several times but father time is slowing me down and I'm not sure if I could do it. Appreciate you remembering a buick GS from the past. gary
Wow, I hate to hear that about Thumper. I remember seeing it run at the Memphis Motorsports Park in the late 80's. I'm 29 and cant believe that I just ran across the owner of a Buick icon from my past. Well sir, thank you for having a car that made a mark on my childhood.:TU: If at all possible PM me. I'd love to get some pictures of Thumper from then.
You aren't the only one,either,Junky...I have fond memories of Thumper as well...I know there have to be pics on here somewhere...Fish
