They don't have pics of their parts to campare....Do these fit in the '66 with round shaft? The description says "won't fit with 65 second pattern round shaft. Is this another one of thoe "one size fits all" deals? Thanks, Dan
Dan, I dont really have a good answer for your question but if you are referring to "The parts place" out of Elburn, IL I would steer clear. The owner is a crook. He has tried to scam several friends of mine. That guy will never see one cent of mine. And there shop is about 5 min away from me.
If you are referring to www.thepartsplaceinc.com I am surprised to hear this. They are a major player in resto parts for our cars and many board members have basically rebuilt their cars from the ground up with their products.
Dan, I think it will be like this one from Fusick. I tried it out on a round shifter and it was not quite right, but totally serviceable. I took a picture of it too, have not downloaded that picture yet. Ted http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=138094&highlight=fusick
Thanks for the input, guys! The original boot is torn up, but complete. The seller left a repro in the rear seat, that looks a little like the correct one, but the bottom flap is too small in diameter to cover the factory hole in the carpet. None of the boots in the other thread look like the correct one that Walt shows. I guess it's one of those 'use what looks closest' deals. Dan
We're still unsure if the Parts Place boot is the same as the Fusick boot.o No: I didn't realize the PP boot was finally available....if you do get one, we expect a full review Dan!:TU:
Yep. Thats the place. The owners name is Joe. He has a very crooked past. He makes cowl tags and build sheets for false restorations. A buddy of mine bought an aftermarket goodmark quarter panel from him and it was NO where near close to fitting and he wouldnt help him out. I have many more stories like that from him. Its a free country and you guys are free to do whatever you want but I just want to share my experiences with you and maybe prevent someone from getting ripped off. Buyer beware.
