I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but has any one tried one or any other new aftermarket core supports? I damage mine in a wreck, it has already been repaired in the past, so I thought a new one might be best.
I know Parts Place has for $359 and they quoted me $90 on S/H, so thats $450 all together. AMD has for $600 or $700, you think it wouldn't be worth spending the extra money w/ the possibility of a better product? The core support is an important piece I would hate for it to throw off the look of the front end.
Just got one from the Parts Place a couple of months ago & it was perfect for the 70 GSX I was working on.
Although they fit 70-72, they are the 1970 version not the 71/72 version with the plastic headlight bushings http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/CoreSupportNmbrs.htm
Guys I believe only Parts Place has them, they purchased all the stock from AMD. You will see others sell them but non have them, I called instead of placing an order! Dont waste your time looking around, just get one from Parts Place. I purchased one for future use, just in case, including a pass side wheel well, also made by AMD. George
The core support came in today. It is indeed an AMD product. I haven't bolted it up yet but just by looking at, it looks really well made and should fit just fine. Hopefully I can put it in this weekend.
My CS came from TPP a few years back and it was AMD. Very minor mods needed at the body shop from what I can tell. All headlight mountings were fine. I am happy with it. Mark
