    Parting loaded 65 Electra conv in Iowa UPDATED pics

    Over the summer I will be parting out a 65 Electra convertible. It's an abandoned project and to be honest I am still discovering what I have and what is missing.

    I do know it has:
    * Tilt column
    * Power windows
    * Power vents
    * Power antenna (am radio)

    I know it does not have:
    * engine or trans
    * front door panels

    Please e-mail me at craig.cermak@civco.com

    Thanks.

    That one looks too good to part out. Would you consider selling what's left as it is?

    I'm interested in the Fan shroud if it isn't broken.

    Too bad there are no cornering lights.

    Depending on condition, also interested in the interior windshield trim....the pieces that are on both sides of the rear view mirror.

    Man I hate to see that car get parted out. It looks to be a very decent project.
    I also am wondering what it would take for you to let the whole thing go as is?

    To all that may be interested in the whole car:

    I would like $600 as it is now (I have not removed anything yet).

    I bought it from a scrap hauler a couple years ago for $600 delivered (scrap was at $275 a ton the summer of 2008). It DOES NOT have a title and there is some filler under that fresh looking paint.

    My plan was to part it as much as possible this summer and scrap the rest next winter (scrap typically peaks in the Feb-March time trame). I figure between the parts and the scrap I will be able to get my investment back plus a little for my time.

    I am going to haul it from my storage location to my house within the next couple weeks so I won't begin parting it until then. When i move it i will get some better pictures.

    Buickbonehead,
    It may have the cornering lights in the trunk.

    Thanks

    I decided to go get it last night. Below are some pictures I took this morning.
    I think the car has less filler than I originally thought but the paint job is thick and BAD. It still has the fender skirt mounts on both sides and the floors look very solid.

    The worst rust is in the trunk lid (see picture)

    If you still are parting it I might be interested in the master power window switch

    I will see my friend tomorrow, I think he would want this car. I think he may be up to a road trip to your place. He keeps bugging me for my '65, but I don't want to sell. He really wants a big GM ragtop like this. I'll post back here .
