Got it the other day, real quick, thanks :)

The one I got is stamped September 1967 and is almost identical to the 1970 model. The only difference in sheet metal I can see is that the dimlight indicator light is rectangular on the 1967, but rounded 1970. The prints on the 1970 variant are slightly wider.

Started to integrate the stock odometer with this new base plate. It was hard to get the speedometer needle off at first. Tried internet tricks prying with spoons and forks. Didnt work, so also applied heat with a thin soldering iron. Still no success. What did it in the end was some trick from this forum. Turning the needle counter clockwise and pulling outwards by hand did it. I held a counter torque on the speedometer shaft using needle nose pliers. It sat real hard! No damage happened, but it was a little scary.

The ink on the numbers is real sensitive, a warning out there! Tried to clean it with hand dishsoap real careful, and it dissolved a little of the white ink. Might even dissolve in water, will not try.

Otherwise bettered the chrome using Molotow Liquid Chrome markers, works really well I think.

I'm think you read my speedometer thread? You don't need to hold the speedo shaft. Just twist the needle off. Install it the same way. It's all in the thread
