I have had dealings with him for an complete engine build.

Do your self a favor, do not order anything at PAE/ Jim Burek.

    Your money will be gone!

Or if your "lucky" you will get a engine or part, but the machinework (if any!) will be so bad, it will blowup in your Face!

Hope this helps to keep some of you from having the same problems MANY buick riders have had the last 5 years and its now 2010 and it still going on, cause nobody knew this or was warned!

    I wasn't warned! YOU ARE ! :Smarty:

BTW his username here at V8: Buick535. No posts since March of 09. I was in Jim's corner years ago because he had always sealed the deal with me but after several years of his name becoming more and more tarnished I realize things have changed. Jim needs to man up and pay his debts to this community! If you are reading Jim, please do something about all this!!

He hasn't even logged on here using his ID since last August. Of course he still could be viewing as a visitor and not logging in.

Jim Burek got me for $5,000.00 on machine work a few years ago. Two (2) 455 blocks bored .030. When he got done with them all bores were different sizes. Also the cranks had to be redone. Both blocks had to be rebored as well as cranks. He even took numbers off 1 block. That's a lot of money to be out.

DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

wasn't PAE "in the mix" somehow at poston also ? just tryin to put 2 n 2 together . del

Stage 1 automotive in Pompton plains, NJ. is my recomendation. They know Buick engines like the back of their hand there, and are right in New Jersey.

I don't believe anything someone posts attacking Jim and not have the guts to sign his own name to their post, REALLY???

    New SBB That HURT

I dont see how not signing one's name to a post makes it less credible. The user name has been here for quite awhile. The issue has been made public, this user has related a problem. It's up to you to believe in Jim Burek, or, in this case, copeddler. But if Burek is being slandered, why by so many? If he walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, and looks like a duck, maybe he is.

Paid him 1000+ to work over a set of stg1 heads, a year later they still wernt done forcing me to make a trip to el passo :spank: Needless to say I got my heads but they were cimplete junk, they flowed less than a stock head, and leaked water. Completely destroyed!:af: He also burned me on a set of ross pistons.

Dick "Copeddler68" has posted his name and has made transactions on the Board here many times in the past. He is certainly not hiding his identity as you suggest.

    northcorner Guess what I'm thinking..

It sucks that everyone that's speaking up here has had to go through this with Jim. However, the number of people that have spoken up has to be a small percentage of the over all number of customers he has had over the years that he's been in business. As in previous threads about his questionable business practices, there are still lots of people that were more than satisfied with their dealings with Jim.

I'm in no way condoning the treatment of you guys with Jim. I really hate that you guys got hosed.

    BUICKRAT Torque Rules!

Let me start by saying that all of my business dealing with Jim have been fine.

    That was many years ago.

I also understand that a business can run into hard times. I own and run a reputable repair shop.

However, I have never screwed any customer or vendor because of financial difficulties. My credit rating is A++. I have had to borrow money to keep my business afloat and retain all my customers. That is what you do in hard times. When times are good, you sock it away for the bad times to come. That is how a 'model' business works.

I have to say that I am disappointed to hear that people have been screwed. There are 2 sides to every story, I have lost customers because they felt they were not properly treated even though I did all I could, and then some, to make them happy. But remember, in my business, I don't get paid till the job is completed. I put up all the money for the parts and labor and overhead. I do not take peoples money in advance and then not deliver. That is a recipe for a business failure. Seems like Jim may be on that road...borrow from peter to pay paul.

Or he just doesn't give a crap anymore. Which would be too bad, but I guess in todays world, that is considered the norm. Me, me, me.

I had a guy who just got another 26 weeks unemployment benefits, on top of the 15 weeks he got last year, who worked for me for 4 and a half weeks, was totally useless, all he could do was brag about who he knew, couldn't get a single thing right (just someone to watch the register, ring up customers and clean the shop at night). These types can ruin a small business. Get a few of 'em together and watch out. Remember, I gotta pay for his un-employment benefits, listen to his stupid whining and bragging, baby sit a 43 year old, and then after I shi!can his ass, he gets benefits for 41 weeks.

Sorry, I was starting to rant.

My point was that scumbags like that can take a mom&pop down in a heartbeat. And they are the scourge of the economy.

Today, everyone gets to push the "reset" button and all is well.

I would like to at least hear an explanation from Jim himself. If he can't provide that, he is just another bum.

I just checked to see if the website was still there and I see it is gone. Looks like he went down with Poston.

It is sad to see that one who was held in high regard at one time could be held in such low regard at present with no explanation!:(
