Now, thats a nice drag car! :TU: Price seems quite reasonable too.

Another Bad A$$ Buick that was set up for a BBC.

Rolling Chassis, Now someone buy that car and build it RIGHT!!

Not a bad deal indeed! 15 K gets you a complete car. Then you sell the BBC for about 5-8K and with minor mods you drop in your own BBB or SBB  Total investment less 5-8 grand for selling the BBC puts you under 10 grand! And thats a complete racecar. Not bad at all for someone stepping up or just starting out. It's always cheaper to buy them compared to building them.

Is the motor coming with the car? It says "set up FOR BBC/PG"

Almost as if there is nothing in the engine bay when it is sold...

No motor goes with this car.

The top guys in Ten-Five are in the very low 4.50's, with some testing into the 4.40's. This body will never be competitive in 10.5 against any Camaro with a NOS 767 or a twin turbo Rustang.

But it would be fun as heck with a BBB. Nice car.

Oh well :Do No: Then you wonder what this guys bottom line is. Even though the car is still worth it.

I hope to let you know what that bottom line was. I have been working on this since it was listed. Owner is stepping up to a pro mod style car and needs to move this to buy his new car, I need to sell my car to buy this one. This is the southern style outlaw 10.5 that can't be a full chassis car, they only allow backhalf cars and this was right in line with weight restrictions. I don't plan to set the world on fire with my e.t. but do plan to be a contender in the brackets and qualify for the quick 16. My worlds need to allign just right to make this happen but it is in the works. The 65 has always been my favorite for a race car, Big Bad Buick has always been the car I wanted but never worked out, we will see what happens here.

You want a light '65? I'll sell you mine. With you in it, it'll weigh in at 2650 lbs. All you have to do is give me 2.5 million dollars and she's yours! I figure that's what I've got into it, so it's only fair. I should be comitted to an institution anyway, so you might as well buy it. :puzzled:

    65!

I can tell you from experience that you won't build that car for any where near what he is asking and he might deal a little on that price. If some one gave you the body and it was not too rough you still could not touch it at that price. I know we all want to "build our own", but it takes money to buy everything new and untold amounts of labor. I built my 67 5 years ago and had deals and freebies on lots of stuff and did all of it myself except cage and paint and had deals on both and still spent more than this. I know if we spend a little at a time it don't seem as much but it is. The problem with Buicks is that the woods is not full of them like Chevys and Mustangs. A couple of bodies I have thought about for 10.5 is a 62 Special or an early 90's Regal. You have to look at the hole they punch in the air as well as weight. Just my ramblings.

I like it go for it Dennis I wish you the best of luck.
I agree with Jim N there is no way to build that car for 15k.I got the body of my car for free and lots of good deals and I have more than that in my car and the heap isn't done yet.

No on all questions. I have decided not to pursue this, I just don't have enough spare change to cover the car and get it race ready this year without pulling money from where I shouldn't. I am building an el cheapo car for this year just to get back in the game and develop the drivetrain for a better car later. I have had a few conversations with the shop that the car is at (not the owner) sounds like a nice ride. Lots of work to make race ready to my liking with Buick power. There is no fuel system, just a front mount cell as it was a belt drive alcohol pump on it. The radiator I think would be a bit small for a gasoline powered Buick in round robin competition, it was a blown alcohol 1/8 mile car towed through the pits. The shifter is for a powerglide, not my choice for that much weight without a stroker or power adder. It has a 12 bolt rear, I would prefer a 9". So here is my list for this car, rear end change, shifter, trans, engine, fuel system -cell, motor plates, custom headers, hood scoop cooling system some wiring and odds and ends plus the $15000 purchase price, out of my league right now. Sounds like the main hoop of the roll cage is a bit forward of where I would like it with high door bars, would make it a pain in the but for me to climb into. I am not knocking this car in any way as I think it is a very nice car and I would love to have it, this is just my opinion on what it would take to make it fit me. I would love to see someone here have it so I could see it up close, my dream will just have to wait awhile until my life changes a bit.
