Now that I have a couple hundred miles on my 455 I'm starting to get after it a bit. It's got a bunch more power than the old one. :Brow:

I took it out yesterday. It was a beautiful day; 75 degrees, clear blue sky, man I love California. But I digress.

I'm doing 35 in a 35 and slowing down to about 15 for a light that just turned green but the cars haven't all got going yet. I have about 50 yards in front of me till the back of the last car at the light.

I'm in the right lane, and in the left lane some rich dummy in a convertible Mercedes thinks he's going to cut in front of my and make a right at the light. I hate it when that happens so I nail it.

First time I've had tires break loose from 15 mph. Got some great noise out of them and my car shot forward. Scared the crap out of this Mercedes driver, I saw him nearly jump out of his seat. Talk about music; the roar of the 455 and squealing meats is the reason there's no working radio in my car.

Yeah, he cut in behind me. Way behind me.

    That was fun.

Cool ... bet he never suspected it.

I crunched THREE planes at once doing that. They were in the trunk and I had forgotten about them. The Spare tire ate well that day :puzzled: :Dou:

Betcha remembered pretty quick when you heard the crunch. :eek2:

Up next- a gear change. Tired of the 2-series one-legger. It's rarely driven on the freeway, think 3:42s are enough?

3.42's are a good compromise gear - do that and a good converter and it'll feel like a whole 'nuther beast ontop of the new feeling.

    Are you still flying ??

Cool. I'm tired of it pulling harder at 70 than it does at 20. :)

What part of San Jose? I grew up in Blossom Valley and Almaden Valley. I just want to picture the light and dream a little.

Branham and Cherry. I live 1 block north off Glacier Drive. Used to live in one of the condos that are 1 block south, off Capay. You've probably driven right by both places.

    Where are you now?

    Care to elaborate?

While I love sarcasm, yours seems a bit misplaced. I have to say if you were there and knew how little room there would have been if I had let this guy cut in front of me and practically stop for this particular right turn, you'd have done the same thing, unless your car's a slug.

Maybe the brakes on that 4500 lb barge you're driving are better than mine and you would've had no trouble stopping, but somehow I doubt it.

I moved up to El Dorado Hills. Manage a collision repair (body) shop. Great wide open spaces to do major road tests.

Happy Veterans Day. 50 is becoming heavily patroled and heavier traffic. The back roads are long and straight!?!?
