Anybody here, or knows of someone who bought or owned a '70 Apollo White GSX, Stage one, auto, A/C from the Dallas, Fort Worth area? This car would have been sold in late April. It was dealer traded from another Buick dealer about 70 miles from Dallas. I am trying to document the history of the car, but many of the DMV records from Texas were destroyed. Thanks for any leads that can be provided.
Tom Baker and I looked at one from Tex., but it would have been 2002. He has it in Charlotte. White and auto but do not remember if it was a stage one.
I believe that might be the one Scott Lawing bought back in the early to mid 1990's out of Hemmings. I remember calling on the car but passed when I learned there was no title. Scott called next and bought it for like 6k and later sold it for about double thatou: Wish I had THAT ONE to do over again!
I think I misunderstood what you are looking for. Are you looking for the original owner of a car sold in April 1970 in the Dallas area?
Scott; A Gsx QQ that we used to own that is now owned by another Board member came from Dallas and was sold in Dallas. I know at least as early as 1978 it was owned by a person there named Jimmy Austin who we think owned a chrome shop. At one time the internet showed someone in Dallas by that name. If he was the original owner, there is a good chance he knew the other GSX owners in the area. If that lead does not pan out, let me know. I have another similar lead.
Thanks for the info so far. I should clarify that this would have been in the early '70's. The earliest record I have on the car was when it was sold in Amarillo, TX. The dealer is now gone that sold the car but I did speak to the owner of the place, who of course didn't keep those records.
Scott, You may want to contact Ray Witt. He owns a Buick Dealership near Small town NORTH of Amarillo texas and his family has owned the business for many years. He owns a white GSX of his own and has seen more then one come and go. He may remeber the car you are talking about or may have an idea of how to help you. Another guy to talk to is Mickey Parrish, a board member. He was a regional rep back then and sent me an extremely cool photo of one of his sales managers delivering a white GSX to a Dallas schoolteacher. She dressed up in all black and white for the occasion. Dan
