Just as the title says, my wife asked what I want for Xmas and this would be something I could really use. I'm doing a pretty good job taking pics of where everything was so I can put it back the same way. This isn't the first car I've restored, but it is my first Buick. It's the '70 455 convert in my sig. Are the detailed assembly manuals better than the Fisher Body books or vice versa? Looking for something with detailed assembly pictures mostly. Thanks in advance.

    Nick,
As far as detailed assembly pictures, the Buick assembly manuals are so far superior to any of the other publications out there that there's nothing to discuss. They are very detailed, and do a good job describing the way the cars were put together during final assembly.

Now they won't go into how the body shells were put together (Fisher book), or explain how to fix something (Chassis Manual), but they are great for putting cars together, plus they list most of the part numbers so you can check the pieces you have.

Do you know if they are all pretty much the same? Year One sells one, and there are some on Ebay. I would assume the content is the same, but the cover page is different.

I got mine from Year One several years ago and they were good quality but you have to bind them yourself. Well worth the purchase as you cannot put together one of these cars without it. A wealth of info.
