cpk 71 im just a number

I have 73 455 unknown mileage 45 to 55 psi oil at startup, 5 to 10 at idle sometimes less. Rebuilt oil pump helped a little but not much.Do you think bearings or front cover. Thinking of changing cam but wont if lost cause. Pulling it out in 1 week should i take chance and check bearings. Going to pull pan off for gasket anyway. Runs alright, cam is pretty flat, like to get away just changing cam lifters if possible. what do ya'll think ? feedback appreciated thanks chris

like my 455 that was in my Regal.Came out of a 73 Electra with 120000 miles on it.Did what you did and it lasted about another 10000 miles.I dragraced it a little but had a cam in it that would rev past 4500 or so.
Keep the RPM's low and put a cam in it with lots of low end torque and have fun a bit.
After the tear down the factory stock front cam bearing was pretty much waisted.I think if you do anything get the TA cam bearings with the duel grooves on the back. You need that oil to them rod bearings.May not help oil pressure much put at least you will have enough there.
