Although Buick used out of the factory the vinyl type convertible top,
I have seen a few restorations use the canvas type top.
Which one do you Buick people like and why?
    Has anyone used both types?
And what are the pros and cons?
I know the cost of the canvas is quite a bit more.
I just am not sure which one I want to use on a
    69 skylark/GS. :Do No:

I feel the canvas/vinyl tops are a disposable mantience item. they plain wear out. Go with what you feel like. someone most likely will need to replace it if you go to sell the car.

I personally am going to take a hard look at the canvas ones in white for mine when i go to replace it. I think they look much richer.

although I may talk to people and see what holds up better for the GM top that keeps getting holes in the C pilar area.

    i'd go personal prefrence.

I used canvas (stayfast or stayfit something). Love it!

    Canvas

I went to canvas and a glass window because that's what I prefer. It has been a year and a half and still looks great.I drive it everyday and throw a cover on at night.I wasn't hung up on keeping it original though so it's obviously a personal choice. It seems(I've had both)that the vinyl cracks but I've had cars where the canvas tore.I think maybe the quality grade is an issue.

I have a "stayfast' canvas top on my 40 convert that was installed in 1988. I drive the car quite a bit, and the top is raised and lowered plenty! It still looks new, and I agree with the others that they just look classier.
