    I think it breaks down as follows

    70=quad

    43=73

    2=49(quad 4bbl federal standards)

    4=Buick

    0=Auto

    and should interchange with

    the 72 which is an automatic 455 4bbl

    correct me if I am wrong

    kinda new to this world

    TIA

    You will also find that the '72 carb is a little richer, which will assist in both power and mileage. I have, on too many occasions, seen emissions go DOWN and mileage go up by slightly enriching the mixtures. It is because the richer mixtures allow better throttle response, and less required throttle settings for the same performance. Ray
