Nice car, but he's asking a W-30 price for a plain-ol' 442. Maybe he's confused: there were certainly more than 247 post coupe 442s in 1970 -- was 247 the number of post coupe W-30s?

I see the car's in Marion, CT. Reminds me of the folk song where the guy sees a highway sign which says, "Entering Marion" and he's not real sure what he's supposed to do. :Brow:

We own a twilight blue 70 ram air 4 speed with a with a white vinyl top and pearl interior-- also frame off. I think it looks a lot better than the same combo with the black.

It is a post cpe. More valuable that a HT.

Never understand why a post (sport) coupe is more popular than the "post-less" or hardtop (Holiday) coupes today. Granted, they're more rare (because more people liked the Holiday coupes years ago), but so are 4 doors, or 327 Camaros.

Can see it on an el-strippo plain Jane car (with dog dishes....the only place they belong in my book   .....) or an all out race car (hides the roll bar) but the HT's are much better looking. Maybe it's because there isn't as much cruising with all the windows down like we used to do. HT's are gorgeous with all windows down, doesn't make much difference with the post cars (at least in appearance).

This gorgeous 442 is a prime example of why it's best to start with the most valuable car you can if you plan to do this type of resto. Costs just as much on a non W30 as a W30 (OK, except the cute little emblems......which will probably end up being added to this car somewhere down the road).

We get into this discussion all the time on Realoldspower about why original W cars (even rusty ones) bring so much and many of the people try to compare that to their rust free regular Cutlasses. There is no comparison.

262 Post Coupe 70 W30's....so his number of 24x for a regular doesn't make sense. Maybe he has somehow worked his way down the list (ie "well there were 10,000 made but only 24x with blue tops and 8 tracks" or some similar rationale people use to try to make there cars "seem rarer").

IMO post coupes are A LOT LESS popular, not moreso, than regular hardtops...most people can't stand the body style...too old fashioned.
