    Aluminum Crager Super Tricks

One of my ole Buick buds is looking for at least 2 of these possibly more (driven by price).

Here are the details he sent me.

I would cut out the part that makes him look like a tight wad but I enjoy messing with him

And Jack said "Cheap, cheap, and between 8 and 9wide with standard back spacing. Round is always a plus and they must be of the proper lug spacing for an A body car. Did I mention they shall be cheap to purchase?

Anyone able to help him before he turns into a "bird"? "cheap cheap, cheap cheap"

I have an old muscle car mag somewhere with a Yellow GSX with those wheels on it. I'm going from memory, but I thought they were called Cragar SST's. :Do No:

That does sound familiar but I am not sure :Do No:

I'll call Jack tonight to confirm that.

    Thanks Ken.

Hey Ken you posted the link while I was typing.

That is them alright! Nice work buddy :TU:

Now if Jack will come off the hip to have them shipped in from Canada :jd:

Probably be way too rich for his father, with children, budget but at least we know what they are called now (SST's).

    Thanks again Ken.

I think Super Tricks are aluminiun and they are two piece wheels for drag cars.SST are chrome steel wheels for street cars. They look very similar. HTH

    John,
My set of wheels goes with the car, and I guess they are Super Tricks as they are 2 piece aluminum wheels. Here's the car in it's heyday.

    KILLER PICTURE Duane! :eek2:

The heck with my buddies wheels I am ready to go racing now! :Brow:

I've got to ask you what the "wings" are in front of the rear wheels?

"I'll Bet that car will fly?" Most go with the "Rocket Car" name.

    Thanks for sharing that.

Ok, Back to the wheels Jack needs.

    Pat,

Thanks for remembering the 2 styles.I now remember he wanted the aluminum because he specifically was talking about polishing the aluminum to a mirror.

Ok, so they are Super Tricks, 2 piece aluminum Cragers like Duanes.

Think I might revise the want ad title now that I know what to ask for

Thanks again for the help fellas.

    John,
This car is the first Hydrogen Peroxide Rocket Powered Funny Car ever built. The wings are called Canard Wings and were angled downward to keep the car on the ground.

    Duane,

VERY COOL, buddy I wish my Dad was still around so I could tell him about your car.

He was in rocket Research during World War II (Head of the Chem. Lab) and could probably walk me through the physics of your car :Smarty: .

    VERY IMPRESSIVE :TU:

I like that "Launch" Great Scat is making there too.

I tell ya those wheels are starting to grow on me.

I wonder how those Super Tricks would look on my factory 4 speed 64 Wildcat with some wide ole Mickey Thompsons? :3gears:

Gotta help my buddy first though.

I've always liked the tricks on a car, especially when they're polished.Besides, they're still the lightest wheel out there.A couple years ago I saw the latest state of the art wheels used by the pro stock guys and figured maybe Scat could use some new wheels because they were probably real light and high tech.I went to summit and checked their construction and weight for each size I needed and the ol tricks were still lighter,go figure? So I stayed with them, these are really old since they only have the single bolt pattern, they are'nt drilled for either one, back then you ordered the pattern you needed.
I think a road boat like yours would look great and very unique with the tricks.Get them polished though and use stainless bolts to connect the 2 pieces together.I'd like to see a pic if ever you get them on your car.
