You guys are mostly all missing the point:rant: . Just sit back and enjoy the ads and dream that right now - you could grab your keys and go down to the local ( fill in the blank ) dealer and buy a brand new ( blank again ) and drive it home, instead of scrounging for NOS or "goodnuff" parts to rebuild that ~30 year old project of yours. Sheesh, Enjoy!! :TU: :gp: :gp: :gp: Robert
You must have been reading my mind. I was just contemplating selling my 67 Cutlass conv. and putting the cash down on a new Challenger. I have always said if Detroit would build a decent muscle car again I'd be first in line. GM has betrayed we loyal Olds fans, but the new Challenger is really a sharp ride. Damn the gas prices, I'd like to have one. :3gears: The H/O is a keeper though, they will burry me in it.
I had some requests for European cars. I had a few Opel tests (I'll get to those), but I thought this one of a '68 Jaguar XKE was especially cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JerwmGstWEE Man, did these things snake through the corners, or what? uzzled: Mike
Love it! "Our cat came off the line like Mr Clean looking for dirt" "The greastest thing since bromo discovered seltzer"  I love watching these things just to hear these old colloquialisms!!! I dont know if anyone's posted this previously but Wikipedia has a little bio about Bud Lindemann- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bud_lindemann
I never heard of Bud before seeing these. Those colloquialisms remind me of Tom McCahill that did write ups after he tested cars back in the 50' & 60's. Was it for Popular Mechanics? Some of his I remember were. "Handles like a wet bar of soap!" "Looks like a football player wearing ballet shoes." "Quality would have been better if they shoveled it into a bag and shipped it parcel post." (something like that.)
Tom Mccahill. He wrote for Mechanics Illustrated. I have several issues including the test he did of a Delta 88 with the B09 police package http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_McCahill
Jason: I'd love to see that B09 Delta article. Any way you can scan it and either send it to me or post it here? I remember those cars, and there's still a lot of interest in them (especially Joe Z. in Illinois), but not much on the details. I have an article I bought on ebay on a 68 Cutlass with the B09 (or was it B01(?) police package, but turns out it was a speecial built car that was provided to the magazine to see if they could drum up some interest. Was a 4 door base model with the G block 400. Interesting car.
Dave- I made a new thread about it. Did'nt want to highjack this one- http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?p=1234582#post1234582
Hi Mike. Just wanted to let you know how much I love these video gems!!! Man, do these bring back memories! You wouldn't by chance have a road test for : 1968 Plymouth Sport Fury 440 1969 Delta 88 Police Package I would buy these from you if you do! Thanks for sharing, man. Uncle Hulka
Those 69 Delta cop cars were awesome...... coincidence that I also had a 68 Fury III years ago. $100 special, had it running 100MPH on the NE Ext of the Pa. turnpike as it rolled over 100k miles. What a beast.
For those of you who like the '73 Cutlass, here's a site I saw years ago. I think the car is pretty nifty: http://members.aol.com/MAGSURV/index1.html
I haven't put the Delta on the road yet, but hopefully soon. It's actually not a 'cop' car. The original owner wanted a full-size performance car and so he special ordered this car. Rock solid, runs great and completely original and un-modified!!!!!! The best part is that he kept an extremely detailed log book from the day he picked it up at the dealership (on July 3, 1969) until 1991 when he passed away. What an unbelievable bonus! I wish I could find more information about these cars, but there doesn't seem to be much info out there (that I've found at least). How many were built?o No: As for the Sport Fury, I bought the car in December and just registered it this past Saturday! Still have more to do to it, but I did drive it a little this week-end and it is a lot of fun. Loves the highway. Top down, enjoying a beautiful morning cruise and I suddenly realize I'm doing 95 mph! Again, I can't find a great deal of info on these either! Galen Govier says there were 2,111 Sport Fury Convertibles built for the 1968 model year, but no one can tell me how many were equipped with the 440HP motor (L-code). Less than 50 seems to be the general consensus, but I'd like to know for sure. Since this is a Buick site, I should add that the one musclecar I'd like to own before I die is a 1970 GS 455 Stage 1 (in GSX trim would be nice). I know how amazingly powerful these cars are. Back in the dark days, I owned a couple LS-6 Chevelles and they were shockingly strong. I know that the Stage 1 would be just as impressive!
Just added a 68 Shelby GT500KR test : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsZcaPD5iq8 ...and a 74 Camaro LT : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUBFUaXZjD8 ...and a really weird VW/Camper combo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56XL0TysIn0  Mike
That Shelby has a right brake light out. Wasn`t a light bulb part of Fords either there sign or part of there advertising sign ? I can`t remember exactly but I do remember a light bulb having something to do with it.
Just added a 69 Impala 396 test. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePisYhvNmF4 Also, a cool little piece for Olds fans. :3gears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh3qg14K2-M Mike
