oil pan leak

    just curious can full syn oil cause leaks???
    my motor just recently start leaking from oil pan talk to someone and they told me it cause be because i put fully syn oil?
    just put the motor in and did the oil change(5w-30) before running the motor.
    never leaking for P/O

    either way ill replace the gasket just want to know if theres any truth in what i was told???

    72 buick 350 from skylark in my 83 regal mild build but have not been rebuilt

    i have heard that it can find holes and so forth in seals that the dino cant.

    yes syn can make leaks worse

    u should run 10w30 or 10w40 oil. 5w starts out too thin. i use 10w40 conventional.

    Don't forget an ZDDP additive, or at least run an oil with that in the correct amounts. :)
