Went to send 4 wheels out. Frederick, MD location now opens 10 am. Was 8 am, then 9am.
Go to other location. They say that there can be no holes in the boxes. The "holes" they are referring to are slits to allow easy lifting. I say OK, I'll tape over them. She say no, can't use tape. Must use cardboard. Then she says she can see there is no padding for the wheels. These boxes are the original boxes that the manufacturer used, the wheels fit perfect don't move at all. Plus they are the boxes that UPS shipped them to me in.

Also, I have shipped at least 5 sets from the other UPS location in these boxes with NO PROBLEM!

Their solution, sell me boxes at $5.50 each. I told them what they could do with their boxes.....

Going to the other UPS place.

It's kind of the same thing at U-Haul. The connections on their trailer lights are unique to them, so you have to buy an adapter from them. Well, I laid into them about this tactic and U-haul gave them to me at no charge:af: :beer. They'll do anything for a buck I guess.

    It's called "upselling"

They try to convince you that you "need" something that they just happen to have (at an inflated price).

It's a pain the deal with, especially when you can't "just say no!" because of time or circumstances.

Just got back from another UPS place and they took em no problem.
I think the first place screwed with me cuz there was no line in addition to them being ignorant xxxholes.

They said I could fill out a "disclaimer"? form whereby they wouldn't be liable for any damage. Right.....I'm not that stupid!

i've gotten wheels from ups with no padding, and frankly i thought it was a bad idea. without tires, there's for sure a good chance that the 'oops' men will bend them.:af:

the counterperson was basically indirectly telling your that you package is going to be handled by the equivalent of an irate gorilla between destinations.
