Oddfire V-6 and 455 bellhousing differences

My question concerns swapping a 455 into a mid '70s car with an oddfire V6 connected to a standard transmission. Are there any differences in the bellhousing of the oddfire V6 that would prevent it mating to a 455?

Or is a Buick bellhousing interchangable between the V6s and the V8s?

I do realize I would need a V8 flywheel and pilot bearing. Those are not issues.

Thanks in advance for any help. This is a job I have never done. Actually, never even thought about it before.

I just realized that I posted this in the wrong catagory. I should have clicked on U-Shift Em.

Can one of the moderators move it to U-Shift Em?

    Thanks.

I am putting in a 350 due to 455 was to big to fit a skyhawk with out cutting. In same bank of info needed except clutch info needed. I have 71 350 motor and 70 known buick original flywheel, what bearing do i need and what clutch do I need, ? Can I use the v6 3.8 clutch/and platepack to the 350 flywheel? or do I need a 10.5 full new clutchpack? and the 79 spline count to the saginaw 4 spd, ? thanks craig

Sorry, no help here...it may behoove you to use a larger clutch provided that it will fit inside the Buick V6 bell. Bro' had problems with the clutch slipping under heavy acceleration estimated 350 hp at the flywheel. Ooh should've mentioned this is the first reply...from what I remember, those cable operated clutch forks didn't like heavy clutch spring pressures. Spline count to the Saginaw should be your typical 10 splines 1 1/8" diameter.
