Does anybody know where I can get rod bolts and nuts for a 72 350? Apparently I have the 11/32" versions that have the 12 point nuts. And even then, I was told there are two different versions of those!...also, can't buy stock replacement units. Hey, if ARP versions are the only available option, ok, but I'd rather not have to pay $116 for a set!!! Anybody have any thoughts? I'm also placing a thread in the parts wanted section. Help, this is my daily driver!!

Alot of guys like to use the 73 + newer 'capscrew' rods - I believe they are stronger. The bolts are also cheaper! I'm guessing your price is from TA. They may be the only game in town? :Do No:

Thanks Scott, but the engine is already done with the stock rods. We found the problem on reinstall; a few bolts were "stretching". So...anybody have any?:Do No:
    Thanks for your thoughts.

Speaking of a 'stretch'...have you tried the Buick dealer for stock ones?

The only problem that I can see you running into, would be that if you go with the ARP bolts - you'll need to have the top side of the rod's bolt hole chamfered to clear the radius of the underside of the 'head' of the ARP bolt! If you don't - failure is emminent!!:eek2: (assuming it wasn't clearanced already).

You should also resize the big end when you install new bolts too!!

Thanks again, Scott. No I haven't tried the dealer: that's a good idea and I'll call right now. Unfortunately, here in S.A. they are pathetically inept and couldn't tell a big block from an eight track if it wasn't on a 2002 model! One dealer said he couldn't even rebuild my engine, and another said it would cost about 5K! I guess Tiger Woods and PGA village is the only language they speak around here.:Dou:

    GS69350 Buick NUT

    Mr. Goof.

I have 2 sets of pistons and rods w/ caps & screws.

Both sets are from 69 350's. THe pistons are toast (which is what I wanted them for : () But ALL the rods are good, including the bolts/nuts.

I live in SO. Cal, I don't see a problem shipping 1 or 2 of these. If I can get teh pistons off the rods I can ship a few rods. I guess I could just pull the bolts, duh.

Let me know if you need 'em.

    Dan
