The following links are to videos of the NSCA Motor City race at Martin this past year. First is a 3 minute edited version that looks like a commercial video, and the second is a 9 minute uncut version showing back to back action of many runs including Bill Trovato's 79 Olds starfire and one other Olds (looks suspiciously like Rhonda Clary's car with some serious wheels and tires, but I KNOW NOTHING!) Didn't see Jim Clay there in his turquoise 67 442, wonder if he ran the NSCA NSS circuit this past year?

Sorry, Brian, no pics of the Oldsmobiles available. Not as much fun highjacking my own threads to show pics of Oldsmobiles.

But what's really neat is the Black 75 (?) Chevelle of none other than Keith Seymour that lurks here on V8 Buick. It's at the 1:38 point of the short video and 2:20 point of the longer version. Way to go Keith. Assume you're running the NMC class now since Street ET is gone?

Pure Stock is neat, but check out these gorgeous and very fast cars. Make sure you turn on your Mustang filter, though. God, they're everywhere.
Neat stuff for a balmy 18 degree Michigan day. :bglasses:

    Hey! I'm almost famous!!

Thanks, Dave. I happened to see those over the weekend. Thank goodness I cut a halfway decent light!

The old Street ET has morphed into "American Muscle", which is an index based class strictly for street appearing vehicles. There is one other entry level class, called "Street Machine", which is also an index class but much more liberal in terms of appearance and also allows racing aids (trans brake, etc).

I checked the points for last year and didn't see Jim Clay on the list, so he must not have made it out. Still holding a spot for your buddy Rob whenever he is ready!

Here is the link to the NSCA if anyone is interested. They have a number of professional and sportsman race categories, show classes and there is also a bulletin board over there.

    Keith,

Rob's semi retired unless he can get a truck and trailer. Think I spoiled him those coupla years. He of all our friends was the die hard "drive it to the race, race it, drive it home". We all get older.

Speaking of older, how about Larry Fleming? Also who was the guy from Ky, I think, that ran the 400 Chevelle a few years back? Used to bring the whole family in a motor home. Think it was grey.

Thanks for the link to NSCA. I see Trovato cleaned up again in his starfire. He's a magician. Laurer should be ready next year with his Mustang with the BIG hair dryer. Think the USS 74 442 has been semi retired.

Liked the 63 Tempest there. Didn't you and/or your Dad race one of them?

Larry is about 71 years old now and still going strong. He didn't run so much this year (because he actually had some farming to do) but can still kick butt on the racetrack. The silver Chevelle might have belonged to Greg Wells; if that is the case he unfortunately was killed in a traffic accident just a month or so ago...

The '63 Tempest belongs to a family friend named Gary Beemer; very nice workmanship on that one. At one time, we had two of those. A Tempest coupe (racecar), which was given to a friend upon Dad's passing, and a LeMans convertible (street car) which Mom kept.

This is unfortunately the best pic I have of the convert because it was raining the day I went up to Mom's to take some pictures.
