Well, i don't post much in this forum, but today, i found something rather amazing that would fit into this section. Well, here it goes:I was out driving the buick today, and decided to fill up the gas tank since it was at a half of tank, and while i was filling it up, i noticed a black ford probe GT sitting across the tanks from us. The car looked like it was flawless. Didn't even see a scratch on it. Well, after the hose clicked, I handed my grandpa the money, and i had him go inside and pay for gas. As i was sitting in the car waiting, i watched the two guys who were in it get out of it again, and they popped the hood open and lifted it up, and one guy said to the other:"Go turn the motor over and give it a few revs." I was just sitting there watching, wondering what possibly could have gone wrong with this perfecto looking probe, and as the guy started it up, he threw a few small revs, then he threw 3 big ones, and after that, the guy outside watching the engine told him to give it a bigger rev, and the guy did so, and as i watched, totally amazed, the car made a loud "KAPLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF", and out came a cloud of white steam, and a little spring of water. Finally, my grandpa comes out and he get's in the car and i get over to the drivers side, and before i pulled out, i got to see the two guys get mad and one of them slammed the hood down, and said that:"F'n ford, that's the last ford i'll ever own, Im gonna have em take that peice of s*** to the junkyard", and i finally decided to leave. Wow, saint patricks day is not a good day for everybody:eek2: I guess someone was blowin steam off, as well as his car:laugh: Well, that's enoguh excitement for the day.

Nice story, but interested me the most is the part where you said you pumped gas first and then payed.....

i didnt know that stuff still existed...over here in LA you dont get a drop of gas till you drop some cash down first...

    Re: huh?

The sunoco station in Newton Falls, Ohio (nearest town to where I live) actually has those stickers on the pumps that say "please pay for gas inside before pumping", except that they scratched out the "before" and replaced it with "after". They still use one of those carbon copy machines for credit cards. Gotta love small towns.

carbon copy...... wow. do the gas pumps still have analog numbers? or do you have to hand pump the gas out:Brow:

I think they actually have updated to the digital pumps (no pay at the pump though). There is a station down the road with the analog numbers. You have to specify the pump number you want to choose the grade. Ironically enough, you have to prepay there.

We (town of 21,000+) have signs at some of the pumps in town that ask you to "Please pay before you pump after dark". Full digital displays+pay at the pump. I guess it's because nothing happens here, someone doesn't pay and they'll have 5 squads on them before they get 3 blocks. :Do No:

I grew up in W. Farmington, they closed the only gas station in town because they did not sell enough gas.

The QT near me has hundreds of drive-offs a week because it's not prepay. I always use my credit card to fill up, so I never step foot in the store.

In my town and the surrounding ones, unless its near the big tourism areas you pump first, pay later... I have a specific card I put my gas on to make it easy... and no, I CAN'T use all of the gas stations around... they don't all take credit cards.

There are one or two with the roller numbers..

Every Gas Station around here lets you pump first, then pay. I don't know why, they just do:Do No:

  14. No such thing as prepay here. Mostly honest folks here in the upper Midwest, right Cody? :)

We go to the reservation for gas, and pay cash. Problem with that is they don't take credit cards, once I forgot my wallet.:Dou:
They sent me to the cigarette shop, where I made a charge and they gave me cash to pay with.

Problem with credit card pumps is that they always seem to be out of reciept paper. And if someone steals your card, using it in a gas pump would be a cinch. :spank:
