That's really cool. I've never seen a NOS interior door panel for any '65-'72 GS. If it was white I'd buy it.
Looks like the seller is one of the Vigeant brothers an hour north of me. Dave Johnson's friendly with them and one of them bought Cook's Limemist '71 GS ragtop a few years back. They've been wheeling & dealing in Buick parts forever. In fact, I bought a GS hood from them for my first GS in 1988. As an aside: how annoying is it when you tap the picture on an eBay auction and that eBay Motors ad is always the second picture?
I didn't even notice it was Donn (didn't realize there were brothers - I only know him) Ironic that's who bought @CJay's car as the guy he bought it from lives in the same area as Donn.
I find it interesting that this NOS door panel doesn't have holes punched for the arm rest base and door handle mechanism. It doesn't even have a suggested location marked in any way on the back. I just assumed that every panel would have those holes pre-punched since those locations were standard for every car. I can understand not having an indication of the locations for the PW switch, PL switch, or remote mirror since those were optional equipment. I wonder why it includes the lower stainless steel trim but not the upper trim? Seems like it would have both, or neither.
Good questions. Fisher Body must've punched all the holes at once for ea. car depending upon options & had locating fixtures so no indications needed & any replacement panel came w/no holes. Doubtful these were stocked in the parts system either. This piece was probably ordered during the model year & pulled from production but never installed.
That was odd. I bought it from Mass and it went right back to the same area. It's like the car was meant to live in New England
