    -----------------------------------------

Now open to ALL muscle Cars 1960-1974
Regardless of weather you qualify for FAST or Factory Stock or not, there is going to be a class for you.
    -----------------------------------------

The day will consists of these separate events:
    --------------------------------
US Muscle Drags, which will feature all types of Muscle Cars

US Muscle Drags boast two classes, one for the radial tire crowd and one for slicks "sticky tire" racers, giving the ALL the fans of Detroit's finest muscle cars a place to flex their muscles. The US Muscle Drags classes allow headers and internal engine modifications, just like any other bracket race day. So no matter what type of car you have you will be able to race this day in a class that you will easily fit into
    ------------------------------------------
    The FAST DRAGS Class..
Basically look stock and have the allowed internal modifications.
Lots of 11 second factory stock looking cars here.
    ------------------------------------------
    The Factory Stock Class..
You are stock, you have small or minor internal and no external modifications. This class is for the way they ran out of the Factory.
    ------------------------------------------
See www.musclecarrace.com for detail on the above 2 classes. For the above 2 classes:
In either FAST Drags or Factory Stock class:

    No Nitrous
ALL 4 Tires should be the around the same size
    No Slicks or Drag Radials
    No Superchargers
    No Turbochargers
    No Headers

    EVERY Entry gets a TROPHY!!

Rules are now very liberal, and allow most minor infractions, if you have a question about this race email me

I went to the Hemmings muscle car shootout and it rained. Drove 6 hours there and 5 hours back that day.

    Looking forward to it! :bglasses:

Finally, a heads up muscle car event for us easterners. I've raced at E-town for years. Given the sea level track and cool November air, THIS is the time and the place to set new personal bests! I can't count how many NHRA national records were set at this facility. It's almost expected every year.

I'm pissed it got rained out in July.................I'm gonna miss the November race :( To think I was only 30 minutes away. Once I get settled I gotta find out where and how far Fomoso Raceway is for me, I'm sure its more than 30 minutes away

Hopefully it'll be a success and it'll become a yearly thing and I can plan my visits back to NJ around it :)

If you can possibly believe this!!! The weather forecast for tommorrow in NJ could be iffy. I want everyone who is considering coming to this event to call Raceway Park at 1-732-446-7800, as early as possible tommorrow. They have to make a decision on the weather tommorrow morning (same situation as last time).

If the rain stops in the morning or by the morning, raceway park WILL be open, if tommorrow morning it is still raining in the area, RACEWAY PARK and ONLY RACEWAY PARK will make the decision as to cancel the day or not. PLEASE call early tommorrow morning before coming.

As of NOW we are going, if Raceway Park once again, cancels the event,I will not be able to get the word out to everyone, so PLEASE call first. This also applies to all the emails I am now getting asking about a rain date. There is NO rain date this year. we will be called/part of the US Muscle Drags next year, and there are 4 firm dates as of next year.

This years event despite the weather, turned out to be a success!! Most parts of the Northeast were under some form of snow or ice precipation early in the morning, but the skies cleared later in the day, although it was still cold and very windy. 36 degrees, and 20-30 mph side wind gusts!
Raceway Park did their best to try to accomidate all of the racers wishes, and did a good job prepping the track for the event. Inspite of the fact that it was covered in ice early in the morning.

Again inspite of all this......... NEW F.A.S.T class ET amd MPH records were set here this day. This proves again Raceway Park even under less then optimal weather conditions can come through.

The Buick versus Hemi Mopar rivalry is alive and well! Greg Gessler and Dave Dudek once again duked it out with some amazing displays of driving ability and control. These guys are absolute PRO's. The staff at Raceway Park, who in the control rooms were watching the F.A.S.T & F/S classes closely, were commenting that THIS display of driving abilties were among the most impressive they have seen. And this track regularily sees the very top drivers in all of drag racing.

All competitors recieved trophies, and will get a FREE video of the event as soon as we edit it, in the next month. I would like to thank the F.A.S.T competitors who drove countless hours to compete. Among the long distance drivers were.. Tom Cannon with his awesome Challenger, Pat Wendling's incredible 69' Firebird RAIV, and Dave Dudek Jr & Sr. that drove from Michigan get a special Thank You for coming out to support the event.

I also want to thank the 17 Factory Stock attendees that braved the weather, some driving with NO Trailers from CT, where there was 4" of snow.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Again Thanks guys for coming out. We will have videos ready as soon as we can. Dave Dudek and Greg Gessler will be featured in Raceway Park news, and we are talking about having at least 2 events next year here, and possibly more. The event schedule for next year is being worked out now. I will try to get a US Muscle Drags 2-day event scheduled. This may have a decent chance, since Raceway Park considers this event to be a success. A bigger success than they had thought possible, under the threatning weather predictions.

I will have Race Results, updated pictures and videos uploaded on the site as I get them. Also thanks to Mike Kamm for also coming out and helping with the video taping of the event. With his and others also taping the event, we have several video camera angles and should have some good material to post soon.

Hats off to GONZO :TU: :beer When I was a member of the local Olds club in NJ (The Rallye 350 club) We used to host the annual Olds Day there and I kinda have an idea of how hectic & crazy it is to plan something at Raceway Park. But The Knapp Family (owners of the track) does try their best to accomodate. So...........great thanks again to GONZO...............next year I'll try to plan my trip to NJ around the event

My feelings exactly. If it wasn't for Gonzo, there would not have been a FAST style race here, and the "seed" would not yet have been planted in the Northeast. :TU:

Once I get settled in...............I'd like to attempt to bring it here on the left (west) coast, I'm supposedly about an hr or so away from Famoso Raceway :)

I forgot to mention...............it was probably twice as difficult for GONZO because its not like he lived near Raceway Park.................he has to be easily 90 minutes away or so :(

I was only 30 minutes away
